Demand for fine marble handicrafts is rising in luxury markets worldwide. India’s heritage carving techniques and abundant marble resources make it a preferred source.
Grades and specifications
Exporters should offer Class A and B marble with a minimum 0.5mm thickness and a 1mm tolerance on dimensions. Finish should be matte or satin, with a smooth surface free from cracks or fissures. Packaging must use moisture‑proof, anti‑slip boxes, and each piece should be individually wrapped in bubble wrap or kraft paper. Buyers often request a certificate of origin and a detailed specification sheet, including stone type, finish, and weight.
Target markets
Key destinations are the United Kingdom, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore, where heritage décor is in demand. Growth is driven by luxury hotels, interior designers and cultural institutions seeking authentic, handcrafted pieces. Emerging markets in the Middle East and East Asia also show interest in niche, artisan marble items.
