HS codes
Construction Equipment exports fall under HS chapter 84. Classify precisely — the first six digits are international, the rest are India's ITC-HS extension. Your HS code drives duty, FTA eligibility and the paperwork the buyer's customs will expect.
Export requirements & certifications
- IEC and RCMC from EEPC India.
- CE marking (Machinery Directive) where selling into the EU/UK; the destination's equivalent safety approval elsewhere.
- Operator manuals, safety labelling and technical file per machine.
- Buyer-specified pre-shipment inspection and, for used/refurbished equipment, age/condition documentation.
Requirements change and are buyer- and destination-specific — confirm the current rules with your export promotion council and the buyer before you ship.
Documentation
Every construction equipment shipment needs the core set: commercial invoice, packing list, shipping bill, bill of lading or airway bill, certificate of origin (preferential where an FTA applies), and the category-specific certificates above. See the full export documentation checklist and the construction equipment export guide.
Finding buyers
The reliable method: identify companies that already import construction equipment in your target market from customs data, reach the named procurement contact, and open on the trade signal — not a generic pitch. EximHub does that end to end. Read how to find construction equipment buyers, how to find export buyers or how customs trade data works.
