HS codes
Meat exports fall under HS chapter 02. Classify precisely — the first six digits are international, the rest are India's ITC-HS extension. Your HS code drives duty, FTA eligibility and the paperwork the buyer's customs will expect.
Export requirements & certifications
- Registration with APEDA and slaughter/processing at an APEDA-approved, government-inspected facility.
- Sanitary/health certificate from India's veterinary authority matching the importing country's animal-health requirements.
- Halal certification where required by the destination market.
- Cold-chain compliance and destination-specific labelling; buyer-specified cut and packing.

Documentation
