HS codes
Rice exports fall under HS 1006. Classify precisely — the first six digits are international, the rest are India's ITC-HS extension. Your HS code drives duty, FTA eligibility and the paperwork the buyer's customs will expect.
Export requirements & certifications
- APEDA registration (RCMC) for basmati and non-basmati rice.
- Phytosanitary certificate; fumigation certificate where required.
- Certificate of origin; for basmati to the EU, a basmati authenticity / non-GMO declaration.
- Compliance with destination MRLs (tricyclazole and others are tightly limited in the EU).
- Buyer-specified grade, moisture, broken % and packing (jute vs PP, 5–50 kg).

Documentation
